*********************************************** TV300 REV B. TROUBLESHOOTING 1) BLANK SCREEN: a) This is either cause by a bad con- nection or bad card. CHECK LIST: a) Make sure that the VIDEO & TV300 cards are securely place in there slots. b) Check the FEATURE CONNECTOR, try flipping it over. c) Make sure that the BREAK OUT CABLE is connected correctly. Double check that it connected from the TV300 card to the Video Card cor- rectly. d) Try to remove the TV300 and connect the monitor back to the video card. 2) PORT ADDRESS ISSUES: a) Remote and video screen look OK but the rest of the back ground on the monitor has a pink, blue or green tint to it. b) When you click on the TV300 icon, the hour glass comes up and goes away again. CHECK LIST: a) Check the PORT ADDRESS SETTINGS by Changing the SW2 jumper block (to a desired setting) and then going into windows and clicking on the ADDRESS SET- UP icon and set the software to match the hardware settings that you just made. b) Pink screen can also be caused by PCI & 24 bit video cards being incom- patible. 2) TUNER ADDRESS ISSUES: a) Background screen looks fine but the television screen is full of static, all pink or colored bars. CHECK LIST: a) Pink screen can also be caused by misalignment, (Click on SETTINGS / ALIGN VIDEO) and make changes. b) To change the TUNER ADDRESS change the SW3 jumper settings on the card and make necessary changes in the software by clicking on the ADDRESS SETUP icon (in the TV300 window) and making proper changes. c) Try fine tuning. 4) IRQ & MEMORY ISSUES: a) Problems saving an image. CHECKLIST: a) Make sure that the IRQ jumper on the TV300 card (SW1) matches the setting in the WINDOWS / DRIVERS section under BUSINESS AUDIO / SETUP. b) See if the user has 16 MB or more of ram. If they do, then go to CMOS / ADVANCED SETTINGS and disable any VIDEO SHADOW RAM that may be enabled. Next go to CONFIG.SYS and add an exclusion statement (X=B000-B7FF etc.) to the end of the EMM386.EXE line. Once the ex- clusion has been added click on the ADDRESS SETTING icon (in the TV300 window) and change the BUFFER ADDRESS SETTING to an address area that you just excluded in the CONFIG.SYS. 5) CAPTURED IMAGES LOOK GRAINY: a) Try VGA and if it is already on VGA try 256 colors. b) Save the image as an 8 bit BMP. *********************************************** TV300 Rev b General Issues. Subject: When freezing an image a dialogue box snaps to the screen and says "vertical sync interrupts enabled and configured 0 frames captured." ----------------------------------------------- Subject: TV300 Rev B working with PB550 PCI Video. Solution: In CMOS Setup we disabled: "Video Palette Snoop" which is contained in the Advanced Chipset section. The customer started the computer, changed the software address settings for the TV card. What do you think happened. Solution: Go to the DRIVERS section in WINDOWS and choose the CAPTURE DRIVER. Change the irq setting.
